Dublin Airport is proposing “new sustainability measures to incentivise airlines to operate lower CO₂ emission aircraft”. The proposed scheme would, see a “low emissions discount” applied to the airport’s aeronautical charges, which it says are “the lowest of any capital city airport in Europe”. “A new 25% discount off all runway charges will be available to all airlines that operate the most environmentally friendly aircraft at all times of the day,” the airport announced. Higher charges have been in place since 2022 “for nosier [sic] aircraft which operate at night”, according to a statement by the Dublin Airport Authority (daa).
