IndiGo’s chief executive Ronojoy Dutta has commented that India needs to rationalise taxes on jet fuel, to make flying “viable for airlines and affordable for consumers”, warning that the airline industry will suffer as global oil prices continue to rise. IndiGo has requested that aviation turbine fuel (ATF) be folded into the goods and services tax (GST).
