The US Department of Transportation (DOT) has approved Delta Air Lines codeshare partnership with airBaltic. The two airlines had applied with the DOT about two years back. Delta hopes to attract passengers planning to travel between US and Baltic countries as it does not have a strong presence in the Baltics. Delta will put its code on airBaltic flights, but in the future, the two airlines could expand that codeshare to put airBaltic’s code on Delta’s flights from Europe to the United States. Delta is also planning robust expansion in other parts of Europe. The airline announced its largest-ever transatlantic schedule
