The Indian government has approved the purchase of Boeing Apache and Chinook helicopters in a deal worth approximately $2.5bn, which includes options on an additional 11 Apache and seven Chinook helicopters. The helicopters will replace the Indian military’s aging Soviet-origin choppers.
