AirZim to acquire two new ERJs

Air Zimbabwe is planning to acquire two new Embraer aircraft to service its domestic and regional routes.
AirZim board chairman Ozias Bvute told a parliamentary portfolio committee on state enterprises and parastatals: “We are in the process of acquiring Embraer planes by way of lease. They are more fuel efficient and will enable us to fly more regional routes and we hope we will be able to do that in the shortest time possible.”
The airline hopes to cut its fuel bill significantly with the new aircraft that will replace its 737-200 on domestic routes that currently has a low load factor.
