Amsterdam Schiphol witnessed 5.66 million passengers in June 2023 around 13% lower than during the same month in 2019 despite the continuing recovery in long-haul traffic. Schiphol airport management is currently fighting a battle with the Dutch government as the government plans to reduce its annual capacity from this winter. The airport handled nearly 39,000 commercial flights in June 2024 recording a 5% increase over June 2022 but 10% lower than June 2019 levels. Just over 80% of Schiphol’s flights were intra-European services with the rest departing to intercontinental destinations.
