Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) handled 3.1 million passengers in May 2023 with the flight movements increased month-on-month by 3% to 22,200. As compared to last year, the passenger volume recorded 17 times increase while the flight movement rose to 113%. Overall cargo volume declined in May, with imports decreasing by 30% compared to the same month last year. Traffic to and from Southeast Asia, Taiwan, and Japan saw the most significant decreases during the month.
