Survey points to slowdown for US spring break travel

Airlines in the US could face a downturn in in flight bookings for spring break, going by a survey carried out by YouGov. Commissioned by travel publication The Point Guy, the survey showed 66% of people as unable to afford their first-choice destination for the holiday, with around 30% saying flights were too pricey. “Compared to previous years, travellers planning to hit the road are staying closer to home (35%), budgeting more for gas (33%) and driving instead of flying (32%).
