German powerplant manufacturer MTU Aero Engines has celebrated a successful Dubai airshow, with purchase deals (made for various engines in which MTU is involved) worth more than half a billion dollars in orders for the company. “The very pleasing order intake… clearly shows that the widebody segment is becoming increasingly attractive again,” noted chief program officer Michael Schreyögg; a trend illustrated by orders from TAAG Angola Airlines and Royal Air Maroc, who have both opted for widebody engines with MTU participation.
