In what they described as an “unprecedented initiative”, Embraer, Brazil’s Aeronautical Technological Institute (ITA) and the São Paulo State Research Support Foundation (FAPESP) have opened an Engineering Research Center. The centre has been backed by a roughly $10 million investment to get it started in its mission to “find innovative technological solutions that will enhance the sustainability and competitiveness of the global innovation ecosystem”. Airframe manufacturer Embraer said the opening event for the centre was held at ITA and was attended by the governor of the State of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas and by the director of the department
