British Airways (BA) will replace its paper-based maintenance reporting system with automated reporting process E-Logs, which uses real-time data to predict aircraft maintenance issues and reduce delays. The system will also save the company on using nearly a million pieces of paper per year. BA chief technical officer Andy Best said: “By replacing time-consuming manual processes with digital technology we are constantly improving the reliability of our aircraft fleet and as a result our customers’ experience.” The technology allows for the immediate transfer of data, allowing for engineers to pre-order required parts.
