Solomon Airlines has grounded its A320-200 aircraft after reporting a fuel contamination issue. “We are liaising with Airbus to assist with resolving the issue. Our team are striving to resolve the issue, whilst sourcing replacement aircraft to cover the affected services utilising operators approved and in compliance with our AOC and Civil Aviation Authority of the Solomon Islands (CAASI),” the airline said in a statement. The aircraft flew its last flight on April 26, 2023 from Honiara to Brisbane International Airport and has been grounded since then. The airline has clarified that the aircraft operations might be suspended for about a week.
