After a series of disagreements with majority owner of Cargolux, the government of Luxembourg, over its future direction, Qatar Airways is likely to sell its 35% stake in the cargo carrier back to the government which will look for a new strategic investor. That investor could be Volga-Dnepr Airlines, which also owns scheduled cargo carrier AirBridge Cargo as well as a 49% stake in Air Cargo Germany. “The Luxembourg and Qatari shareholders disagreed on the future strategic orientation of the airline, which led to Qatar’s decision to pull out of Cargolux,” a spokeswoman for Cargolux told Reuters.
