Norwegian seeks UK AOC

Low-cost carrier Norwegian has confirmed that it is seeking a UK air operator’s certificate (AOC) and may also apply for a Spanish AOC. Based in Norway, the carrier is restricted from certain destinations, gaining a UK and/or Spanish AOC would allow Norwegian to access those countries bilateral air service arrangements with other countries. Norway is also not a member of the European Union, which is also restricting Norwegian access to foreign flying rights. Norwegian Air International has an Irish AOC for proposed services to the US, which have been put on hold due to the severe lobbying against the airline
