China Airlines has posted a first quarter net loss of NT$940.3 million from NT$379.1 million a year earlier. Revenue was slightly higher for the quarter however at NT$30.88 billion from NT$30.34 billion in the same period in 2011. Operating costs, including fuel, rose by 4.4% to NT$30.86 billion from NT$29.55 billion. Foreign-exchange gains for the period also fell to NT$26.7 million from NT$156.5 million.
