China Southern Airlines saw its net profit drop nearly 21% from the same period last year to CNY1.69 billion which the airline blamed on challenges relating to the economic environment. Elsewhere, the firm posted a near 8% year-on-year rise in its revenue for the first half of 2019. During the first six months, the airline reached CNY72.94 billion ($10.2 billion) in revenue during the first six months, compared with CNY67.56 billion in the same period of 2018.
