American Airlines states that it extended flight cancellations through June 5 as the carrier continues to await information from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Transportation (DOT), National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), other regulatory authorities and Boeing that would permit the 24 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in its fleet to resume flying. American has extended the cancellation period in an effort to provide more certainty and avoid last minute flight disruptions, it said. Some 90 flights each day will be cancelled under the current schedule.
