Air China has confirmed it plans to introduce more than 30 new aircraft this year due to demand with up to ten of the new aircraft being large wide body types. All will be directed to the Shanghai market. The carrier said it will also phase out some of its older Boeing 737-300s this year which means that the remaining will be a hot competition for Boeing to retain its customer. The airline also confirmed it would consider fuel hedges if oil prices continue rising.
