Six Thai carriers – Thai Airways International (THAI), NokScoot, Asian Air, Jet Asia, Asia Atlantic Airlines and AirAsia X – have been ordered not to promote or sell any flights to Japan after May 31 in case the flights are cancelled due to safety concerns. Japan has allowed the Thai carriers to resume flights to Japan from Saturday, but only until May 31. The flights will only be approved after that date if the carriers have be judged to have improved safety standards by then.
