Qantas maintains interest in China Eastern partnership

Despite the ACCC’s preliminary decision to reject the proposed partnership between Qantas and China Eastern Airlines, the Australian airline plans to appeal to the ACCC. Qantas International CEO Gareth Evans, said: “We hope the ACCC, with the fullness of time, will step back and see it as the Australia-China market not the Sydney-Shanghai market which is a very narrow scope that they’ve driven.”
