Emirates has indicated it has not yet seen a downturn in business travel. Bookings remain strong despite other airlines reporting sales are down due to the worsening economic environment. “As yet, fingers crossed, we have not seen any diminution of demand,” said Tim Clark, president of Emirates to Reuters. He added that fuel remains the airline’s biggest problem but that is easing off as oil prices stablise. Although because Emirates largest income hails from the Eurozone and the UK, the crisis is keeping Clark awake at night as customers may halt travelling to cut costs through an impending recession.
