ETIHAD CELEBRATES SEVENTH ANNIVERSARY

Etihad is celebrating its seventh anniversary this week and its CEO James Hogan has stated that the airline is continuing to “set new standards”.

In a review of the past seven years, Hogan said to local media that the airline is well on its way to delivering on the mandate his was given “to create an airline that was best-in-class, an airline that was safe and an airline that supports the aspirations of Abu Dhabi and the 2030 Plan”.

However he recognised that there was heavy competition it needs to face, which is why the airline needs to retain its innovation and continue to “focus on the customer”.

Wading into the export credit row, Hogan says that this is not a problem for Gulf carriers but simply “an issue for European governments and if they want to give their airlines access to that type of capital and credit, they should.”
