Condor to reduce long-haul flights from Munich

Thomas Cook Group’s German carrier, Condor, will reduce the number of long-haul flights from Munich during the winter season for 2017/18 and then end them completely from summer 2018. The routes will be transferred to Frankfurt, where demand is greater, and as part of its cost saving programme.

Condor is expanding long-haul flights to North America, however, with the launch of twice-weekly B767 flights from Frankfurt to Phoenix from May 2018. “We are consistently continuing our expansion into North America with Phoenix as a new Condor destination. Now with twelve destinations in the USA and five in Canada, we are very well-positioned here,” said CEO Ralf Teckentrup.

The airline will halt flights to San Diego, launched in May this year.
