All flights out of London’s Stansted Airport were suspended for a time overnight on December 11-12 due to snow on the runway, while Gatwick and Heathrow saw some flights cancelled and others delayed. “Our runway is temporarily closed whilst we undertake snow clearing. We remain open but passengers should contact their airline for the latest flight information,” Stansted announced in the early hours of December 12. “Snow and freezing weather is causing some delays and cancellations at the airport today”, Gatwick said, advising passengers “to check flight status with their airline – and also local travel conditions – before departing
