Swissport workers at the UK’s East Midlands Airport are balloting for strike action in a dispute over night working pay. Members of the GMB union employed as airport and ground staff by Swissport have begun balloting for strike action. This follows a dispute with company management over payment for night time shifts. East Midlands Airport is the UK’s busiest for freight and cargo, with over 370,000 tonnes of cargo flown trough the airport every year. The ballot will run until June 22.
