Refuelling workers at Heathrow Airport have called off their planned strike that was due to begin this week after they accepted a new pay and conditions from their employer, AFS Aviation. Refuellers at AFS who were members of the Unite union were due to walkout for three days on May 4, potentially grounding up to 35 airlines. AFS agreed to improve the pension and sick leave offered to new workers to bring them closer in line with existing staff after Unite’s negotiations with AFS.
