New Birmingham base announced by easyJet

British low-cost carrier easyJet is to open its ninth UK base in Birmingham, with the investment set to create up to 1,200 jobs, The airline is to base three Airbus A320 aircraft at the city’s airport, a move it said would bolster its network and strategy “to take advantage of key growth opportunities”. The airline said it expects to operate its biggest ever UK summer flying programme in 2023, as it gears up to deploy “around eight per cent more capacity than pre-pandemic”.
