British low-cost carrier easyJet is to open its ninth UK base in Birmingham, with the investment set to create up to 1,200 jobs, The airline is to base three Airbus A320 aircraft at the city’s airport, a move it said would bolster its network and strategy “to take advantage of key growth opportunities”.
