Two Dutch airports, Maastricht Aachen (MAA) and Royal Schiphol Group have inked a strategic deal with Schiphol Group purchasing 40% stake in Maastricht Aachen airport. The Limburg government gets to keep a 60% stake in the airport. This agreement will allow both airports to work closely together and keep the aviation industry in the Netherlands future-proof. This includes topics on sustainability, environment-conscious and future-proof airports for commercial and cargo traffic. MAA stands to benefit hugely with this deal as Schiphol Airport is well-known for its sustainable initiatives. The agreement stresses on innovation and electric flight.
