Heathrow’s April passenger number hits 94% of pre-lockdown level

Around 6.4 million passengers travelled via London Heathrow Airport in April 2023,  a 25% increase that took the hub to 94% of April 2019. The airport’s management said that growth in passenger numbers could be levelling off, however, after the expected 2022 surge that followed the easing or removal of pandemic travel curbs. The airport said “continued to deliver excellent passenger getaways” over Easter and the recent coronation of Charles III, as “well over 90%” of people got through security in under ten minutes.
