The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) has signed a new agreement with the Aviation Working Group (AWG) to ‘facilitate capacity building initiatives for states, particularly in developing states, to further enhance safety and efficiency’. Specifically, the agreement will focus on leveraging the long standing cooperation between the two organisations to enhance compliance with the Cape Town Convention and the cross-border transferability of aircraft. Under the partnership, the parties will develop comprehensive implementation support for the Convention through workshops, training and implementation packages (iPacks).
