Rolls-Royce launches manufacturing of largest fan blades

Rolls-Royce has started to manufacture the world’s largest fan blades, for its UltraFan demonstrator engine that the firms claims will set new standards in terms of efficiency and sustainability. As a set the composite blades have a 140-inch diameter, which is almost the size of a current narrowbody fuselage and are being made at the company’s technology hub in Bristol, UK.
