IndiGo introduces sensor technology for faster scanning of life vests

IndiGo has introduced sensor technology on the aircraft for faster and accurate scanning of life vests. Manual inspection of vests takes 90-120 minutes depending on the aircraft type, but with the introduction of sensor tech the time is cut down to 3-4 minutes per aircraft. As per the airline, this innovation is resulting in huge time savings across India’s largest fleet of 300 aircraft, housing more than 53,000 life vests. These time savings will result in better fleet utilisation and reduced waiting time for passengers.
