IndiGo has digitalized its operations by removing technical paper manuals that will remove about 40kg weight from each of its Airbus aircraft. Post attaining a nod of approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) the airline has replaced the technical paper manuals from its Airbus cockpits with iPads. The latest move is part of the Less Paper Cockpit (LPC) program under which the airline launched the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) in 2015 and reduced 25 kg of paper on its Airbus fleet by replacing paper charts and manuals with iPads.
