Airbus aims to win an order from AMR Corp’s American Airlines by offering $6 billion in preferential financing. Airbus has assembled a team of lenders and leasing firms to help the European company win the deal, people familiar with the proposal told the WSJ. AA is looking at 130 A320s and 130 A320neos. American Airlines, currently operates an all Boeing fleet, and if that continues would purchase the 737-800 and 737-900ER aircraft on offer from them.
