Air Astana has launched its new A320 family cabin emergency evacuation trainer and real fire fighting trainer simulators, installed at the Flight Training Center in Astana. The simulators, which are the only ones of their kind in Kazakhstan, are already being used to train cabin crew and pilots in a variety of practical emergency situations. These include incapacitation of one of the pilots, emergency opening, crowd control and passenger evacuation, depressurization, firefighting and orientation in conditions of heavy smoke. “Flight safety and consequently our safety training is our top priority,” explained Sandra Cullen, vice president of training and customer experience.
