TCAA- Passenger traffic in Tanzania crosses pre-pandemic mark in 2022

Tanzania has reported a strong recovery in terms of both passenger as well as freighter traffic as per the report revealed by the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) for 2022. The report showed strong recovery in the cargo segment as the cargo handled last year surpassed pre-pandemic levels by 32% to reach 35,130 tonnes as compared to 30,974 tonnes of cargo handled in 2021. TCAA data showed that passenger traffic in 2022 surpassed pre-pandemic levels by 2% to reach 5.7 million as compared to 2021 which saw 3.8 million passengers.
