Universal Avionics to continue leadership role with RTCA

Universal Avionics’ (UA) Troy Niles is to co-chair the Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics (RTCA) special committee SC-213 on Enhanced Flight Vision Systems and Synthetic Vision Systems (EFVS/SVS). A UA representative has co-chaired the RTCA, “a private, not-for-profit association founded in 1935 dedicated to the creation and implementation of integrated performance standards to ensure the safety, security, and overall health of the aviation ecosystem,” for the past 15 years. “My goal is to help the industry develop relevant standards and increase the usage of EFVS and vision systems,” said Niles, who is technical programme manager for ClearVision EFVS at UA
