Textron has appointed US air force academy graduate Lisa Atherton as chief operating officer of of Bell, with Tom Hammoor moving from Textron’s aviation defence operations to replace Atherton as chief executive and president of Textron Systems. Hamoor, a graduate of the US military academy and a former attack helicopter platoon leader in the 101st Airborne Division, previously worked for General Electric for around 30 years. Textron recently announced the sale of a 3,000th Cessna turboprop, Among the Rhode Island-headquartered company’s other brands are Bell, Beechcraft, Hawker, Pipistrel, Jacobsen, Kautex, Lycoming, E-Z-GO, Arctic Cat, and Textron Systems.
