Orbis flying eye hospital raises nearly £7.5 million last year

International charity Orbis, which operates a flying eye hospital, in a bid to prevent and treat avoidable blindness and visual impairment has revealed that in 2018 it raised nearly £7.5 million. The charity supported 25 projects across 11 countries – showing its global reach being stronger than ever. Many of its projects are in Ethiopia, where this year marked 20 years of sight-saving work. Over that time, Orbis has delivered almost 25 million treatments, 2.25 million screenings and 44.5 million doses of antibiotics in the fight against blinding trachoma.
