Lufthansa Technik Turbine Shannon (LTTS) said it is “continuing its rapid growth trajectory in Ireland” by opening an engine parts and accessories repair section. The “new 2,000 m2 state-of-the-art facility” adds 20% in spatial terms to the company’s maintenance and repair operations in Shannon, a town in Ireland’s south-west that hosts the airport of the same name and  is a half-hour drive from the city of Limerick. The addition will “enable LTTS to expand its portfolio by including engine manifolds among its specialist services”. Manifolds, when worn, diminish engine performance and lead to more emissions.
