In support of Finnair’s striking cabin crew, the union representing Finnish airline mechanics has confirmed it will not service aircraft flying into Helsinki airport. The move from the IUA union will affect British Airways and several other unnamed carriers. The week long strike of its cabin crew over wages and work conditions has forced Finnair to ground about two-thirds of its flights. A proposal was rejected on Monday and no further talks have been scheduled. The Finnish flag carrier has estimated it is losing around €2.5 million for every day it remains grounded.
