British Airways Maintenance Glasgow (BAMG) is beginning a recruitment drive to take on more than 30 aircraft technicians and mechanics to cope with demand. Bill Armstrong, the manager of BAMG, said the additional of 30 staff and 10 apprentices is a vote of confidence in Glasgow by BA management: “We at BAMG, and our colleagues throughout the company’s engineering facilities, play an absolutely vital role in the airline’s operation,” he says. “Our workload is now such that we need to expand the workforce quickly with the addition of experienced and skilled mechanics.”
