The Trinidad and Tobago government has approved Caribbean Airlines request to spend $200 million to buy nine ATR aircraft.The agreement ends a long-running dispute over the issue between the Transport and Works Minister Austin Jack Warner and the airline’s board. Warner had given the government an ultimatum to choose him or the airline’s board but the administration said he acted in the best interest of the airline and the public but the deal was a good one for the airline and that timely action to complete it was required.
