AerCap reveals ransomware cyberattack, retains full control of IT systems

Irish aviation leasing company AerCap has been affected by a ‘cybersecurity incident related to ransomware,’ the company has confirmed in a US Securities and Exchange Commission filing. Alongside notifying law enforcement, AerCap ‘promptly took steps to investigate with the support of third-party cybersecurity experts,’ the filing notes.
