Embraer has made an “initial investment” of around US $4 million in MSW MultiCorp 2, a “multi-corporate venture fund”. The cash infusion is “to attract and boost innovative Brazilian startups that synergise with the company’s innovation strategy”, the aircraft manufacturer said. MSW MultiCorp 2 is the second multi-corporate venture fund to be managed by MSW Capital, a “pioneer” Brazilian venture capital management company. The aim is to open the way for large corporations to invest in startups “in a strategic and structured way”. Embraer’s investment is to fund investment in insurance and energy in sectors such as aerospace and cargo-logistics.
