China Southern Airlines net loss shrinks in Q1 as operating revenue rises

China Southern Airlines’ net loss narrowed sharply in Q1 of 2023 as compared to the same time last year mostly due to the increase in operating revenue by 59%. The company’s net loss shrank to $274.9 million from January-to-March 2023 quarter from a net loss of CNY4.496 billion for the same time last year. Operating revenue increased to CNY34.06 billion from CNY21.47 billion.
