Toki Air, Japanese startup has secured its air operator’s certificate (AOC) from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and will commence scheduled flights from June 30, the airline said. The airline will start two roundtrips per day between Niigata and Sapporo Okadama. The airline has two ATR72-600s in its fleet on lease from Nordic Aviation Capital. Toki Air, a joint venture between the Niigata Chamber of Commerce and Niigata Association of Corporate Executives will be Japan’s first new independent airline launch in last 14 years.
