Boeing intends to deliver its first batch of Boeing 737 Max 8 jets three months earlier than planned in the third quarter of 2017. “Testing, improvement workshops, and solid early data have allowed us to validate the airplane’s performance and move the schedule forward,” said Scott Fancher, Boeing vice president of airplane development. Southwest is launch customer of the 737 Max jets with firm orders for 326 aircraft through 2027. “It’s an even sooner opportunity for us to showcase that aircraft and realize the fuel savings,” said Southwest spokesman Brad Hawkins.
