From January, Afghan airline Safi Airways will be forced to suspend its route between Frankfurt and Kabul due to an EU-wide ban on all Afghan airlines. In November the EU placed all carriers registered in Afghanistan onto a ‘black list’ of airlines excluded from the bloc’s 27 members for safety reasons. Safi Airways had hoped to continue flying into Germany using aircraft registered in the EU but this will take time to implement fully. For now it will continue to operate flights between Frankfurt and Kabul until January 10 using wet leased aircraft registered in Europe. After that the route
