Oman Air chief executive officer Paul Gregorowitsch has stated that the carrier has no immediate plans to set up a low-cost subsidiary airline. He said that Oman’s stringent labour laws are not favourable for starting a budget carrier since Omanis are not allowed to work on a cash and carry basis. The small domestic market, the low level of online ticket sales and bilateral agreements with countries on flying rights, all conspire to create an unfavourable environment to set up a viable budget carrier.
